About the Director of Advantage Tutoring

Susan Chertkow has successfully tutored language arts skills to hundreds of students in the North Shore Area. Her background includes experience as a classroom teacher in both public and private schools. She has worked as a leading educator, curriculum developer, and administrator at the One-to-One Learning Center, a not-for-profit educational organization in Northfield.

Additionally, she is a freelance writer for the Chicago Tribune; her essays and articles have appeared in the Womanews, Food, Style, and Perspective Sections. She has a B.A. in Education and Teaching Certification, and she is a graduate of the Writing Program of Northwestern University.

Her volunteer activities include hosting exchange students, and membership in CCIS, an organization that assists international graduate students at Northwestern University. Susan and her husband, Glenn, an attorney, have lived in Wilmette for over twenty years. Their children, Randall and Heather, attended New Trier High School.
